According to data released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization on December 12, 2013, there were 14.1 million new cancer cases worldwide in 2012, a rapid increase, and the cancer situation in Asian countries became the focus.

The 131021-1 International Agency for Research on Cancer reported that a statistical survey of 28 cancers in 184 countries and regions showed that there are 14 million new cancer cases worldwide each year. The head of the agency warned that this number is expected to rise to 19 million by 2025. In 2008, there were approximately 12.7 million new cancer cases.

The United Nations press release quoted Furman, a senior official of the agency, as saying that most cancers currently occur in developing countries. "Almost half of the new cancer cases and more than half of cancer deaths occur in Asian countries."

Lung cancer is the most common and common cancer, and also the most fatal cancer, accounting for about 13% of all cancer cases, mainly caused by smoking and other factors. Other common cancers include breast cancer and rectal cancer.

The WHO has paid special attention to the sharp increase in breast cancer cases and called on all sectors to pay attention. Breast cancer has become one of the most common cancers among women. In 2012, 1.7 million women worldwide were diagnosed with breast cancer. The WHO called for the prevention and diagnosis of breast cancer for women in developing countries.

The report also pointed out that there are 520,000 new cases of cervical cancer each year in the world, making it the fourth most common cancer affecting women worldwide, and cervical cancer is the number one killer of women in low-income countries such as sub-Saharan Africa.

The number of deaths from cancer is also increasing, from 7.6 million in 2008 to 8.2 million in 2012. Many developing countries are accelerating the process of industrialization, and cancer patients are increasing in the process. Unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking and unbalanced diet also increase the risk of illness.
